While the statewide number of positive COVID-19 cases continues to increase, state health department data shows that 45 counties have had fewer than 1,000 positive cases.
On Friday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health said there were 891 additional positive cases, bringing the statewide total to 137,662.
Forty-five counties have had under 1,000 positive cases; while 15 counties have had 100 or more, but less than 10,000 positive cases.
With Friday’s reporting period, there was no change to local case counts. Elk County has had 64 positive cases, McKean County has had 41 positives, Potter County has had 25 and Cameron County has had 8 positive cases.
Twelve counties remain under 100 cases. Jefferson County has had 99 positive cases; Venango County has had 72; Wyoming County has had 70; Elk County, 64; Tioga County, 48; McKean County, 41; Warren and Fulton counties each have had 36; Potter County, 25; Forest County, 14; Sullivan County, 10; and Cameron County, 8.
Four counties have had over 10,000 positive cases: Philadelphia County, 29,652;
Montgomery County, 11,237; Allegheny County, 10,641; and Delaware County, 10,546.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between Aug. 28 and Sept. 3 is 159,676 with 5,615 positive cases, the health department reported. There were 22,808 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Sept. 3. These results represent the total number of tests administered.
There are 7,742 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 10 new deaths reported.
