As part of the Bradford Historic Streetscape Project — Phase I, stamped asphalt crosswalks are being installed on Main Street from Mechanic Street to Festival Way.
Motorists are advised to avoid driving through Main Street unless necessary during this time.
“The project is expected to last two weeks and began on Monday. By reducing traffic to one lane, there will be delays, and also some limited parking in the areas where crosswalks are being installed,” said Economic and Community Development Manager Anita Dolan.
“However, we strongly encourage residents to still support our downtown merchants as much as possible during this time. Our local businesses are trying to recover from the mandated shutdown. By limiting unnecessary travel on Main Street, delays will be minimized,” Dolan added.
Weather permitting, the project should be completed by Sept. 11.
