A Bradford man accused of stabbing a man in the neck, injuring him, had charges against him bound to court.
Matthew J. Howard, 26, of 153 Main St., Apt. 104, appeared for a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone for charges of aggravated assault-extreme indifference to the value of human life, a first-degree felony; aggravated assault-deadly weapon, a second-degree felony; terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors.
According to the criminal complaint, at 7:34 p.m. Aug. 24, the alleged victim told police he saw his mother and his friend walking along the Barbour Street bridge and began walking toward them. Howard walked out around them and approached him, and the two began to argue.
Howard pulled out a knife and told the victim if he got any closer he would stab him and kill him, the complaint alleged. Howard threw a beverage can as a distraction, then lunged forward and stabbed the man in the neck, the criminal complaint stated.
The alleged victim was taken to Bradford Regional Medical Center, and transferred to Erie County Medical Center trauma center for treatment. The neck wound was very close to the esophagus and artery, the complaint stated.
Howard is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Also appearing for a preliminary hearing Wednesday was Karl D. Sena, 29, of Las Vegas, Nev., who had all charges against him bound to court.
Sena is charged with aggravated assault-deadly weapon, false imprisonment of minor and strangulation, second-degree felonies; unlawful restraint and two counts of terroristic threats, first-degree misdemeanors; false imprisonment, simple assault and two counts of recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors.
According to court records, at 4:11 p.m. Aug. 1, Sena got involved in a fight with his girlfriend at a residence on Clarence Street. During the fight he hit her in the head and chest several times, causing injury to her eye, ear and chest, and threatened to kill her. He also grabbed her by the throat, choking her to the point she nearly passed out.
Sena also held a knife to the chest of the infant, screaming at the child to shut up, the criminal complaint stated. He restrained the woman while she was holding the infant, preventing them from getting out of the residence, the complaint read.
According to Bradford City Police, officers from the city and Bradford Township Police had to gain entry and extract the adult female victim, the infant child, and another young juvenile male to safety.
Sena was then apprehended after he had run and barricaded himself for a short time upstairs with the knife, police stated.
Sena is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Richard P. Fetzeck, 44, of 3 Marion Ave., Apt. 2, Bradford, had the following charges against him bound to court: burglary, a first-degree felony; criminal trespassing, a third-degree felony; indecent assault-forcible compulsion, a first-degree misdemeanor; indecent assault without consent, false imprisonment, and two counts of simple assault, second-degree misdemeanors; and summary harassment.
According to the criminal complaint, at 8:56 p.m. Aug. 16, police officers were dispatched to 251 W. Washington St. for an assault.
Court records indicate that Fetzeck kicked a female while she was cleaning the carpets in her vehicle, bruising her right shoulder.
Then, at 9:16 p.m. that same day, officers were dispatched to 3 Marion Ave. for an assault. Through interviews, police learned that Fetzeck allegedly entered without permission an apartment that was not his, and he chased a female and yelled that he was going to kiss her. He grabbed her, threw her on the couch, grabbed her breasts and tried to kiss her, according to the complaint.
The female had bruises to her arms, wrist and back from being held down against her will, the complaint stated.
Fetzeck is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Samantha L. Chilson, 25, of 48 Amm St., had a charge of criminal trespassing, a third-degree felony, against her bound to McKean County Court.
According to the criminal complaint, at 3:15 a.m. Aug. 2, Chilson entered a neighboring residence with a male, alarming the residents inside. The residents did not know Chilson or her companion. She allegedly entered through a rear sliding door, then let the male in through the front door.
One of the occupants found Chilson and the male in a rear bedroom, the complaint stated.
Chilson is free on unsecured bail.
