ERIE — An inmate at the McKean Federal Correctional Institution in Bradford pleaded guilty and was sentenced in federal court to three months in jail on his conviction of possession of contraband in prison, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady announced Wednesday.
U.S. District Judge David S. Cercone imposed the sentence on William Hunt, 37. The sentence was imposed to run consecutively to the sentence Hunt is currently serving.
According to information presented to the court, on or about June 11, 2019, Hunt was in possession of contraband, namely a quantity of synthetic cannabinoid NM2201 while an inmate at the McKean Federal Correctional Institution.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul S. Sellers prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
Brady commended officers of the McKean Federal Correctional Institution and the Pennsylvania State Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Hunt.
