SMETHPORT (EC) — Even though the 2020 McKean County Fair has been canceled due to the coronavirus, fair directors have decided to plan a modified schedule of events, including the traditional tractor parade, which is slated for Saturday in Smethport.
Registration opens at 9 a.m. and continues until parade time at 11 a.m. at the Isadore farm off West Main Street. Parade entrants have been asked to donate non-perishable food items to benefit the county’s food pantries. Donations can also be brought to the Charles Irons Exhibition Hall on the fairgrounds from 8 a.m. until ? that day.
The parade of farm tractors and machinery that remind us that agriculture is still Pennsylvania’s biggest industry will move east along Main Street to East Street in the borough to Allen Street in East Smethport en route to the fairgrounds.
