Two Bradford residents are in McKean County Jail for drug charges stemming from a traffic stop in April.
Christopher S. Mangione, 45, and Candice M. Warriner, 29, were arraigned Sunday before District Judge Richard Luther and committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $20,000 each.
Warriner is charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; manufacturing, etc., a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with the intent to deliver drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors; and several summary charges.
Mangione is charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; alters, forges or counterfeits a certificate of title, registration card or plate, inspection certificate or proof of financial responsibility, a first-degree misdemeanor; manufacturing, etc., controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with the intent to deliver drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors; and several summary charges.
According to the criminal complaint, on April 24, a Foster Township police officer who was traveling east on Bolivar Drive spotted a vehicle that he believed had a fake inspection sticker and illegal tinted windows.
Warriner was driving the vehicle, which was registered to Mangione. Both had suspended driver’s licenses, court records stated.
The officer asked Mangione to exit the vehicle, and Mangione complied. The officer asked him multiple times if there were drugs in the vehicle, and each time Mangione said no. Mangione agreed to a search of the vehicle, according to court records. Warriner was likewise asked to exit the vehicle, and she, too, said there were no drugs in the vehicle.
At 5:04 p.m., Bradford City police arrived to assist by watching Mangione and Warriner during the search.
According to the complaint, items seized during the search included 25 mL of heroin, .5 grams methamphetamine, .5 grams marijuana, loaded needles, 1.5 naproxen pills, one acetaminophen/hydrocodone bitartrate pill, and one amphetamine/dextroamphetamine extended release capsule.
A preliminary hearing for both defendants is scheduled for today.
