The positive case count of COVID-19 for Elk County rose with Tuesday’s reporting period, according to the state health department.
Elk County’s case count went up by one to 40, with 31 confirmed and 9 probable cases.
The other three local counties didn’t change.
McKean County remains at 26, with 18 confirmed and 8 probable cases. Potter County’s remained stable at 20 cases, while Cameron County’s remained at 5.
In Elk County, St. Marys has 13 confirmed and 6 probable cases; Ridgway has had 6 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Brockport has had 1 to 4 confirmed; Wilcox has 1 to 4 confirmed, and 1 to 4 probable cases; Kersey and Weedville have 1 to 4 probable cases; and Sigel has 1 to 4 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable cases.
In McKean County, Kane has had 8 confirmed cases. The following areas are listed has having from 1 to 4 confirmed cases: Lewis Run, Bradford, Eldred, Port Allegany, and Smethport.
The following areas are listed as having from 1 to 4 probable cases: Bradford, Eldred, Port Allegany, Kane, and Duke Center.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Tuesday confirmed that there are 1,120 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 109,384.
Allegheny County is reporting an increase of 119 cases, Philadelphia County is reporting an increase of 175 cases and Delaware County is reporting an increase of 118 cases.
The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between July 21 and July 27 is 162,937 with 6,526 positive cases. There were 24,428 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., July 27. These results represent the total number of tests administered.
There are 7,146 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 24 new deaths reported.
Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 641 patients who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure, which are considered probable cases and not confirmed cases. There are 1,059,776 patients who have tested negative to date.
