Criminal charges against a Kane man accused of threatening two people with a knife were bound to McKean County Court at a preliminary hearing Monday before District Judge David Engman.
Robert W. Duck Jr., 41, of 106 Clay St., Kane, is charged with two counts each of terroristic threats, first-degree misdemeanors; simple assault, second-degree misdemeanors; and harassment, summaries.
According to the criminal complaint, Kane Borough police were dispatched at 1:16 a.m. May 8 for a report of an assault.
An officer met with two females who said they lent $100 to Duck on May 6, and he was supposed to pay them back on May 7, according to court records. When the females were unsuccessful in trying to contact Duck for repayment, they went to his home to confront him.
Duck told the pair that someone stole the money; when they said they didn’t believe him, he grabbed a knife that the females described to be about one foot long and about three inches wide, the complaint stated.
He held the knife to the throat of one of the females and said he was going to kill her, then held the knife toward the other female and said he was going to kill her, too, the complaint indicated.
The females reported to police that they suffered minor injuries in the confrontation.
Duck is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
