COUDERSPORT — Registration is open for two classes that the Potter County Department of Emergency Services is holding in the coming months.

The classes are a 16-hour introduction to fire officership course and a 20-hour hazardous materials for EMS course.

There is no cost, but there must be 10 students registered to have each class. No gear is required to take part. The classes are open to students age 18 and older.

Pre-registration is required for both classes.

Introduction to fire officership will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 22 and 23 at the Coudersport Fire Department with instructor Robert Neff. This course is not eligible for DOH con-ed hours. Registration deadline is Aug. 7.

The hazardous materials for EMS class will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 11 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 12 and 13 at the Coudersport Ambulance Department. This course is eligible for DOH con-ed hours The registration deadline is Aug. 28.
