The Bradford City Water Authority is reminding residents that the Heffner Reservoir on West Corydon Street and the property around the water treatment plant are posted against trespassing.
The authority has three surface water reservoirs — Heffner, Marilla and Gilbert. Both Marilla and Gilbert reservoirs are open to public use. Recreational activities such as trail walking or hiking, canoeing and kayaking and fishing are available at Marilla Reservoir.
Similar activities are available at Gilbert Reservoir, with the exception of fishing, which is currently catch-and-release only until the population and fish size are appropriate.
The Heffner Reservoir is the primary water source for the region and has always been restricted to public use for the safety of the reservoir and the public.
