AUSTIN — After much discussion and planning, The Austin Volunteer Fire Company Inc. has decided to cancel its annual 300 Club event.
Instead, a drawing will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday on Facebook Live.
“We understand the event will not be the same, but feel this is our best option to keep our community safe, comply with the current regulations, and still give our supporters a chance to win some money!” the organizers said.
In an attempt to make up for no party, food or drinks, organizers have added 40 additional prizes of $25 each to the drawing. This will nearly double one’s chances to win.
With the added prizes every 5th number drawn will be a winner, and 6 additional prizes have been added to the losers bracket as well. When the 300 drawings are completed, the numbers will be added back to the pot and winners will be drawn for door prizes.
The drawing will be live, and a list of all winners will be posted. Winnings will be distributed in the form of check, by the ticket seller.
