On Friday, the state health department reported a person in Elk County had died from COVID-19, and the case counts ticked up in two local counties.
Elk County was recorded at 33 positive cases, while McKean County’s case count went up by 2 to 22. Elk County has had 1,475 negative tests, while McKean County has had 2,569 negative tests.
Potter County has had 19 positive cases, with 491 testing negative. Cameron has had 5 positive cases, and 302 tested negative.
Statewide, as of Friday, there were 1,032 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 99,478. The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between July 10 and July 16 is 141,307 with 5,579 positive cases. There were 22,940 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., July 16. These results represent the total number of tests administered.
There are 6,992 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 19 new deaths reported.
In McKean County, Kane has had 8 positive cases, while the following places have had between 1 and 4 positives: Bradford, Lewis Run, Smethport, Port Allegany
For probable cases, the following places have had between 1 and 4: Bradford, Port Allegany, Eldred and Duke Center.
