A correctional officer at McKean County Jail has asked that no charges be filed against an inmate accused of assaulting him last week.
According to Lewis Run-based state police, they were dispatched to the jail at 2:20 p.m. July 1 to investigate the alleged assault. At that time, they planned to file charges including aggravated assault and assault by prisoner.
However, on Monday, state troopers were called to the jail, where the correctional officer informed them that he did not wish to pursue charges.
The name of the inmate was redacted on the newest press release, but the earlier release indicated the person was Matthew Confer, 25.
