Division is rampant with such topics as politics, race, gender and COVID-19, and Open Arms Church is launching a series of messages starting this Sunday that addresses this division.
“The world is full of hate, and God has a plan for us to bring love and peace to a world that desperately needs it. How do we change things? How can we represent love and not hate?” said lead Pastor Zoe Hatcher.
Open Arms Bradford has services at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sundays at 1289 E. Main St., about a mile past Walmart in Foster Township, and Open Arms Port Allegany hosts services at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sundays at 105 Smith Ave. in Port Allegany.
In light of an order signed by Pennsylvania Health Department Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine effective July 1, church leaders are asking everyone to wear a face mask while attending one of the worship services this Sunday.
“However, everyone may pull down the face mask when at a seat or when someone else is at least six feet away,” Hatcher said. “Everyone is also strongly encouraged to maintain a six-foot distance from one another unless individuals live in the same household.”
With all that said, Hatcher said the church leaders will not turn anyone away for not wearing a mask.
“We will provide them for those who want them. Face masks are available at the exterior entrances and at the entrance of the auditorium,” she said. “We want to set that example of obedience and love for one another, so church staff, leaders and on-duty volunteers will be wearing face masks, and we are encouraging others to follow suit.”
