A Smethport man will serve two to five years in state prison for allegations that he had inappropriate contact with a child.
Frank P. Deblaso, 38, was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court before President Judge John Pavlock.
Deblaso pleaded guilty Feb. 6 to charges of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and corruption of minors, both third-degree felonies. He entered the plea to allegations that on at least two occasions, he touched a 5-year-old victim inappropriately.
In addition to the prison term, Deblaso must register as a sex offender for his lifetime. He has credit for 246 days of time served.
He had appeared for a sentencing hearing in May, but the hearing was continued due to a question about credit for time served.
Deblaso must get a mental health evaluation that focuses on sex offender treatment and counseling. He is to have no contact whatsoever with the victim or the victim’s family, and he is to have no unsupervised contact with juveniles.
When Pavlock asked Deblaso if he wished to make a statement prior to sentencing, Deblaso replied, “No, I do not.”
