A St. Marys man is facing heroin delivery allegations.
According to St. Marys City Police, the allegations against James M. McDonald, 47, occurred at 5:53 p.m. Saturday in the area of the AutoZone on 953 S. St. Marys St.
The man arrested is not the same person as the Bradford City mayor with the same name.
McDonald is charged with possession with the intent to deliver heroin, a felony; criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors.
Police did not provide further details about McDonald’s alleged actions.
McDonald was committed to Elk County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for June 30.
Court records indicate that this is one of six criminal cases in Elk County against McDonald that have yet to be resolved.
Four of the cases are for drug-related misdemeanor charges, while a fifth case is for forgery allegations, according to court records.
In three cases he is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and in one of those cases he is further charged with summary public drunkenness. In another case, he is charged with forgery-unauthorized act in writing, a first-degree misdemeanor. Another case is for several counts of DUI-controlled substance and multiple summary traffic violations.
Upcoming court dates were not available for the other pending cases.
