EMPORIUM — An American Red Cross blood drive was held at the Cameron County Vets Club on June 11.
Organizers garnered 25 productive pints.
The big milestone for the day was reached by Mike Zerbe, who has donated 288 pints to make 36 gallons. Five others hit milestones, too: Debra Lyon, 15 gallons; Ken Coveney, 13 gallons; Susan Gribble and Barry Sarick both hit 7 gallons; and David Burgett reached his 2-gallon
mark.
The Buffalo, N.Y., team members were Glenn Kraebel, Braylene McMillon and Josie Wilcox, and they were busy since they were short three workers. Local volunteers were Mick Fapore, Paul Richards, Barry Sarick and Mary Greif, and Rich Balizet came by for a visit.
The next blood drive in Emporium will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13. Due to safety and health concerns, make an appointment by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS, or log on at www.redcrossblood.org.
