BLESSINGS: Frances Haight of Kane sent us some poems on the topic of blessings, and we thought we should share a few with our readers.
The first is for the food delivery worker.
Oh, Those Guys
Now and then I order a dinner
Of my favorite foods to go,
The young men who bring them
Bright up my world just so.
They greet me with a smile
And open my bottle of pop,
They ask how I am doing
And if I feel on top.
They make change and leave,
And go on their happy way,
They don’t realize how much they do
When they brighten up my day.

Haight also shared a poem to remind us to stay connected.
And The Sun Shines On
With the loss of loved ones,
When death took them away,
With the love of friendships,
I celebrate every day.
When days are dark and gloomy,
I remember a friend with a call,
Then the sun shines in our hearts,
And we can laugh as we recall.
Some days are sad even yet,
Some days I just don’t care,
But when a friend gets in touch,
I know their love is there.
I try to return the favor,
When their life is torn,
They know my caring is real,
And their faith is re-born.
O be a friend to someone
Talk to them every day,
Encourage them to keep on going
And to talk to others on their way.
