RIDGWAY — A single set of skeletal remains were found near the Twin Lakes Recreational Area in Jones Township, Elk County, on Monday.

Ridgway-based state police and Elk County Coroner Michelle A. Muccio were investigating.

Muccio said, “The investigation is ongoing with the Pennsylvania State Police, the Coroner’s Office, and a specialized forensic team from Erie. More information will be made available at a later date.”

Police said no danger to the community existed.

No further information was released as of Monday evening.
