A Shinglehouse man was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court to a jail term for allegations that he assaulted a police officer and drove under the influence of alcohol.
Devin R. Jenkins, 32, of Shinglehouse, was sentenced to six to 18 months in McKean County Jail with credit for four days of time served for charges of aggravated assault, DUI-general impairment and summary charges.
Jenkins pleaded guilty Feb. 13 to allegations that on Jan. 5, 2019, he struck Smethport Officer Kyle Day in the right eye and nose several times, injuring the officer. Also, Jenkins had been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Also in court on Thursday, Emily L. Kilgus, 39, of Port Allegany, was sentenced to 23 ½ months of probation for charges in two cases. In one case she’s charged with retail theft, and in the second she’s charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Earlier this week, Starlite N. Parker, 25, of Olean, N.Y., pleaded guilty to charges in two cases and was sentenced. According to court records, she pleaded guilty in one case to charges of criminal trespassing and criminal mischief, and in the second case to a charge of defiant trespass. Court records filed at the time she was first charged alleged that on the night of March 2, she went to her ex-boyfriend’s home when he was not there, broke items inside and wrote messages on the living room walls. Then, on April 26, she was accused of entering the property again, refusing to leave and trying to convince him to drop the first case, court records alleged. Parker will serve 45 days to 18 months in McKean County Jail with credit for time served.
Also, court records indicate that Cody B. Hauber, 28, of Eldred, pleaded guilty to one charge of simple assault. Court records filed at the time of his arrest alleged that Hauber assaulted his grandmother on May 9. He will be sentenced July 13.
