RIDGWAY — A Kane garage fire that happened in May was ruled accidental in nature, according to Ridgway-based state police.

State police reported on Wednesday that they, along with the Kane fire and police departments, investigated a fire that happened at 5:46 p.m. May 27 at 319 Reynolds St.

According to police, it was determined that the cause of the fire was hot ash that was discarded outside of the structure. No one was injured.

Damage was estimated at $26,000.
