Mount Jewett man waives hearing for theft allegations
A Mount Jewett man accused of stealing a camper trailer waived a preliminary hearing Monday before District Judge William Todd.
Thomas H. Kinner, 40, is charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, third-degree felonies; two counts of criminal mischief, third-degree misdemeanors; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors; and summary charges.
According to the criminal complaint, the owner of a camper trailer told police that she left the trailer along the road in Sergeant Township because it had a flat tire. She went to get a spare tire, and when she returned, the trailer was gone. Someone also allegedly spray-painted profanity on the road in that area, too.
After receiving a tip of marks on the road on Red Mill Road, state police found Kinner pulling the trailer, the complaint stated. Kinner was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine, too.
Kinner is free on $10,000 unsecured bail.
