Bradford Area Public Library is offering several different activities to help adults usher in the summer season. All programs are open to the public and free.
Yoga With Kathy
Join yoga instructor Kathy Wright, for a full hour of free yoga This will be a Zoom session at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Registration is easy. Either email marketing@bradfordlibrary.org or call the library at 814-362-6527. Once registered, participants will receive a link/password for the yoga session. If there is great interest, Wright might offer another class in July.
Virtual Art Program for Adults
Local artist Julie Mader will be exploring color theory during this nine-week offering for adults. This project is made possible through the AIE partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. The PCA Arts in Education Partner in this region is Elk County Council on the Arts. Art sessions will be pre-recorded and posted on the library’s Facebook page on Fridays, beginning June 19. Registration is not mandatory; however, the library has limited art materials available for those participants who do register. Quaran-Zine
The library will launch a new zine (small online publication) that will feature the creative works of local citizens to showcase what they have been working on. Submissions can include, but are not limited to, art, writing, photography, songs, recipes, etc. Ensure that submissions are appropriate for public viewing, and send work to marketing@bradfordlibrary.org. Send submissions using this format: “Firstname_Lastname”
Coffee with a Curator
Join Bradford Landmark Society curator Sally Costik for the library’s first episode of Coffee with a Curator. This series is prerecorded and posted to the library’s Facebook page. It will begin airing at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Visitors to the page will see interesting artifacts from the Landmark’s collection and hear the society’s story. The library hopes to offer this on a biweekly basis and plans to invite other curators from across the region.
”Upcycle This!”
Join the library at 2 p.m. every Thursday to complete simple craft projects with materials easily found at home. Along the way, participants just may discover a new hobby. “Upcycle This!” is a pre-recorded video that is posted to the library’s Facebook page, so visitors can enjoy it any time that is convenient.
Beanstack for Adults
Children should not have all the fun this summer! A July reading challenge is being planned for adults. More information will be forthcoming.
