Some local races saw candidates running unopposed during Tuesday’s primary.
State Rep. Martin Causer, R-Turtlepoint, ran unopposed. He has held his seat since 2002. He currently serves on the House Commerce, Environmental Resources and Energy and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees. Causer received over 4,000 votes in McKean County, per unofficial tallies.
Causer lives in Turtlepoint with his wife and three children.
Meanwhile, Rep. Glenn “GT” Thompson, R-Pa., was running unopposed to retain his seat as the U.S. Representative to Congress for the 15th District. While elected to Congress in 2008, Thompson was representing the 5th Congressional District at the time. In 2018, he was redistricted to the 15th district, which he continues to represent. Thompson received 3,960 votes in McKean County, according to unofficial results.
Rep. Fred Keller, R-Pa., for the 12th District ran unopposed on the Republican ticket, while Lee Griffin, D-Pa., ran unopposed for the Democratic nod. Keller received over 63,000 votes, compared to Griffin’s 23,800 with only 49% of the state’s districts reporting as of press time.
Keller has been representing the 12th District since May of 2019. Prior to that, he was the representative for the 85th district in the Pa. House of Representatives.
