Smethport man waives hearing for aggravated assault allegations
A Smethport man waived a preliminary hearing Monday before District Judge William Todd on aggravated assault charges.
Andrew J. Kolata, 25, is charged with aggravated assault, a first-degree felony; strangulation, a second-degree felony; simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors; and summary counts of harassment and criminal mischief.
According to Lewis Run-based state police, at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 7, police responded to a Route 46, Keating Township address, for a report of a domestic dispute in progress. After the investigation, police arrested Kolata, of Smethport.
The alleged victim was a 23-year-old female, and Kolata is accused of damaging a pair of prescription eyeglasses during the incident, too, police reported.
Kolata is free, having posted $25,000 bail.
Drug charges against Bradford woman bound to court
Charges against a Bradford woman accused of bringing methamphetamine into McKean County Jail had charges against her bound to McKean County Court.
Christine M. Cutlip, 33, had a preliminary hearing Friday before District Judge William Todd. She is charged with possession of controlled substance contraband by an inmate, a second-degree felony; possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; and possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, on Sept. 28, 2019, Cutlip was brought to McKean County Jail after officers with the McKean County Drug Task Force arrested her for allegations that she was involved with a meth delivery. In addition, a state parole detainer was applied due to a past conviction in a heroin delivery that resulted in an overdose.
Despite having told an officer that she did not have anything in her possession when she was being admitted into the jail,Cutlip was found to be in possession of a bag containing 6.65 grams of meth.
She is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $10,000.
