The McKean County Industrial Development Council has awarded a grant for video conferencing equipment to both the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce and the Kane Area Chamber of Commerce.
This equipment will allow both chambers to offer more services to their members and increase attendance for events by providing a virtual option.
Sherri Geary, who just left her position as McKean County director of economic development, pursued the grants. She was a strong advocate for BACC and KACC, and chamber officials said she will be missed. Geary has just started her new role as the vice president of project development at the Erie County Redevelopment Authority.
Susan Hughes, president of BACC board, stated, “We can’t thank Sherri or the MCIDC board members enough. To have this technology right now is so important to our Chamber Members. As we have all experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic, having the option to do things virtually is imperative. This is a dream we have had at BACC for years and what perfect timing.”
According to Heidi Scrivo Passmore, executive director, “This equipment will allow us to do more events for members such as educational webinars, virtual After Hours and guest speakers. The Chamber is pleased to have updated technology available as another benefit to our members. There will be an option for our members to use the equipment as well.”
She said more details on member use will be announced later.
Morefield Communications has been awarded the contract to complete the installation. The company has already reached out to both BACC and KACC. For further information, contact Heidi Scrivo Passmore at exedir@bradfordchamber.com
