SMETHPORT (EC) — Dr. Amy Thomas Alves, co-president of the Class of 1998 at Smethport Area Junior-Senior High School, is the commencement speaker.
During her high school years, she participated in golf, softball, cheerleading, student council, band, choir and show choir, In addition, she was a Big 30 cheerleader and SAJSHS representative to the Universal Cheerleaders Association, performing in London for the queen. Despite this busy schedule, Alves still found time for her studies and graduated with honors.
After high school, she continued her education at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, where she received her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Chiropractic, graduating magna cum laude.
Her internship cities included Seneca Falls, Rochester and Syracuse. In 2006, she completed her professional clinical observations at Della Valle Chiropractic in Ithaca, N.Y. Following this experience, Alves returned to Pennsylvania, serving as an associate doctor of chiropractic at both Allied Chiropractic in Easton and Rock Chiropractic and Rehabilitation in Philadelphia.
Since 2009, she has owned and operated Advanced Health Chiropractic P. C. in Easton, where she resides with her husband, Jeremy; son, Owen; and step-daughter Annabella.
