POETRY: Reader Carol Carson of Kane sent us a poem she had written about the situation with coronavirus in the world today.
It is called “Pray.”
“I really find it very odd
That people have no trust in God.
I just do not understand
When a virus swept across the land
They closed the churches, schools and stores
Requested everyone to stay indoors.
Masks are required if you go anywhere,
No germs to pollute the air.
But we were created by God, you see,
To live as a people in community.
That’s why I find it very odd
Our fear of a virus is greater than our trust in God.
Pray.

VIRUS: Every day we see stories about coronavirus and how to keep ourselves safe.
The June issue of Consumer Reports has tips for some things that we don’t always think about, like cleaning inside our vehicles.
“Almost every surface inside a vehicle can be safely cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, and solutions containing at least 70 percent alcohol should kill the virus,” the article says. “But because the sustained use of alcohol can leave leather susceptible to damage and discoloration, use a leather conditioner after applying it.”
Good old soap and water can do the trick on cloth, leather and most other car interior surfaces, too. “Scrub with a small amount of water and laundry detergent — too much can leave fabric damp and lead to mold growth — preferably using a microfiber cloth to prevent scratching.”
Do not use bleach, peroxide and ammonia, the article warns, as they can damage upholstery and the non-glare coating on touch screens.
