HOWARD — On Monday, Congressman Glenn Thompson, R-Pa., announced Keystone Rural Health Consortia as the recipient of a $212,944 Health and Human Services (HHS) grant to expand the capacity of Coronavirus testing.
“Access to testing is critical in our fight against Coronavirus,” said Thompson. “This well deserved grant for Keystone Rural Health Consortia will help provide care for residents and is a critical piece of the puzzle when it comes to defeating Coronavirus. Thank you to medical professionals and front line employees who are putting in the hours to keep our communities safe through this pandemic.”
Kristie Bennardi, CEO of Keystone Rural Health Consortia, said, “We are very grateful for the additional funding that allows us to expand our testing. Community Health Centers like ours are an integral part of the fight against COVID-19. We are diligently working to obtain additional testing capacity that will allow us to perform point of care testing for anyone that chooses.”
The mission of the Keystone Rural Health Consortia is to provide quality, affordable, accessible, and comprehensive health services to the counties it serves. Since 1976, KRHC has expanded to seven different facilities across the region, including Emporium, Kane, Ridgway, Johnsonburg and Kersey.
