A Duke Center man is in McKean County Jail after he allegedly assaulted his grandmother over the weekend.
Cody B. Hauber, 27, of 520 Oil Valley Road, Duke Center, was arraigned Saturday before District Judge William Todd on charges of strangulation, a second-degree felony; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary charge.
According to the criminal complaint, at 10:42 a.m. Saturday, Lewis Run-based state police were dispatched to Hauber’s home for a report of a domestic dispute.
Through the investigation, troopers learned that Hauber got into an argument with his grandmother. During the argument, he grabbed her by the arm, leaving a bruise on her forearm, then put both hands around her throat, impeding her ability to breath, the complaint stated.
Hauber was committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 18.
