Friday’s status change to the yellow phase for 24 counties throughout Pennsylvania has allowed for banking institutions to make plans to re-open.
Chris Stott, CNB Bank market president, announced Friday that Clearfield County CNB Bank branch locations and the location on Main Street in Bradford will reopen Monday for normal business hours Monday through Friday. On Saturdays, offices will be drive-through only with lobby visits available by appointment.
Additionally, 8:30-9 a.m. Monday through Friday, lobbies will be reserved to serve area seniors and those at high-risk only. Full details on lobby and drive-up hours by location can be found online at www.CNBBank.bank.
“We’re relieved to be able to offer daily financial advisory services to our clients inside of the lobby.” Stott continued, “Some transactions not only take a bit longer than a simple cashed check or deposit, but also greater finesse and confidentiality than you can provide in a drive-up.”
While clients are required to wear masks when entering the branch offices, they will need to remove their mask briefly for identification purposes. In addition, social distancing practices are important and the number of clients allowed in the building at one time will be limited.
Friday’s announcement also noted the fact that Bradford’s East Main Street location will not re-open.
Stott shared, “During these unprecedented times, we made the difficult decision to close the Bradford East office. With another location less than three miles away in downtown Bradford, 24/7 access to ATMs, and online and mobile banking solutions, our clients will continue to have easy access to their accounts and services.”
Another branch of CNB Bank, this one in Clearfield County, will be closing in addition to the Bradford East office.
“Our increased focus on convenience and digital solutions was driven by customer needs and a growing trend toward these solutions and away from branch banking in general. Before the pandemic further reduced demand for in person transactions, the customer traffic and activities no longer warranted two branch office locations in the market. For this reason, the branch office located at 1001 East Main Street in Bradford, which had been temporarily closed due to the pandemic, will not reopen,” said Amy Potter, vice president of CNB Bank.
The closure of the Bradford East office means that the four individuals who worked at that location have lost their jobs. Potter confirmed that, “Unfortunately, there were no open positions available in the Bradford market for the staff at Bradford East, so their employment was not retained.”
