ST. MARYS — Because of current COVID-19 social distancing regulations in Pennsylvania, the Red Fern in St. Marys cannot host the PA Republican Candidate Forum scheduled for May 19.
The Red Fern is classified as a banquet hall and not a restaurant and thus is guided by different restrictions.
Dick Jones, coordinator for the event, stated that the committee is seeking a venue which meets the social distancing requirements, even if it means only the candidates, the emcee, and the broadcast technicians are present. The committee wants to ensure that voters will have the opportunity to hear the candidates. Further information will be forthcoming.
