OLEAN, N.Y. — The Olean Home Show has been postponed until next year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Last month, Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce staff rescheduled the show, which was originally set for April 24-26, to May 29-31. Now officials are postponing the entire event until April 16-18, 2021.
Meme Krahe Yanetsko from the chamber reported, “We are actively working with our Health Department to ensure a safe place to host any and all of our events. In regards to the home show, we were assuming that the restrictions would be lifted May 15th, but that doesn’t mean there may be guidelines / additional restrictions for large events. Although this event attracts 3,000 people over three days, hourly there may be between 100-300 people in a 17,000 s.f. ice skating rink.”
Any vendors’ deposits/fees paid to the Chamber will be returned 100% to vendors in the next weeks.
If the governor lifts the restrictions May 15, chamber officials will be meeting with the Cattaraugus County Health Department regarding the balance of its calendar of events.
