SMETHPORT — A former Bradford man was sentenced via videoconference Friday afternoon to spend time in state prison for three DUIs within a two-month period.
Robert Denman, 39, who court records list with a Waynesburg address, appeared via videoconference from the McKean County Jail through the Lifesize video conferencing system.
The system is connected with the small courtroom in the county courthouse, and using a link provided by the court administration, The Era was able to view the conference. Also on the conference were Assistant District Attorney Ashley Shade, defense attorney Sarah DuFresne from the public defender’s office, Jody Tanner from Adult Probation and assistant court administrator Patty Brown.
President Judge John Pavlock imposed the sentence, which was 21 months to 4.5 years, with credit for time served of 132 days.
According to court records, Denman had DUIs on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27. Then, on Dec. 15, Denman was removed from Busty Heart’s Place because he was being loud while under the influence of alcohol; while he was driving under the influence, a police officer tried to pull him over, but he refused visible and audible signals to stop his vehicle.
