UNIVERSITY PARK —The Penn State Extension Food Safety and Quality team is offering a free webinar to show you how to create recipes with food safety in mind.
This webinar, “Creating Recipes with Food Safety in Mind,” utilizes the Partnership for Food Safety Education’s Safe Recipe Guide and Penn State Extension’s new food safety fact sheets to teach the best practices to make existing and new recipes safer by including food safety prompts.
Participants in this webinar will learn the research behind the importance of including food safety steps in recipes and will also be able to identify how to insert the four keys to safe food handling into recipes and add food safety steps to regular and quantity food recipes. Included in the webinar are interactive sections for participants to share ideas using sample recipes and videos showing hands-on safe food preparations.
The webinar will be offered at three different times: from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., May 8; 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., May 13; and 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., May 19.
The deadline to register for the program is two days prior to each webinar. Upon registration, registrants will be provided a link in the confirmation email to access a folder where documents related to the webinar can be downloaded.
