WILLIAMSPORT — AIDS Resource is mailing out free condoms to provide the community with the tools to prevent HIV and STIs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the Williamsport and State College offices are closed to the public to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, condoms cannot be distributed as usual. To continue to encourage safer sex, the organization is mailing them per request.
“AIDS Resource is deeply committed to providing safer sex tools to the community,” said Kirsten Burkhart, executive director. “With the restrictions presented by COVID-19, mailing condoms is the safest way we can get the condoms to those who need them.”
“As we adapt to the unique challenges of our current situation, we will not waiver from our mission to provide HIV prevention, education and care,” she said.
Anybody interested in having condoms mailed to them can email condoms@aidsresource.com. In the email, include a name, address, and if there is a latex allergy.
AIDS Resource provides services to the following counties: Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, Snyder and Union.
