In a recent press release, Kane Mayor Brandy Schimp announced the next distribution for the Kane Area Food Pantry, which is scheduled for April 24.
“It will once again be a drive-up distribution,” she said. “Citizens are asked to come at their assigned times and enter through the rear parking lot at St. Callistus, then turn left on Haines.”
Distribution times, based on the first letter of last names, are as follows:
Noon to 1 p.m.: F-K
1 to 2 p.m.: L-R
2 to 3 p.m.: S-Z
3 to 4 p.m.: A-E
Schimp noted that anyone picking food up for someone else must have signed permission from the person they are assisting. Those coming without vehicles may wait for their food in line at the distribution table near the entrance to the food pantry. As always, practice social distancing when picking up food.
Those who did not come to the food pantry last month, but plan to in April must call either 594-6918 or 598-6162 before April 23 to pre-register to ensure there is enough food for all in need. Those who came in March are already registered.
The pantry is currently unable to accept donations of food at this time, though monetary donations can be made by using the PayPal link on the Kane Food Pantry Facebook page.
