Even as a wind storm blew its way through the area on Monday, few power outages were reported to First Energy Corporation.
Locally, McKean and Elk counties were placed under a high wind warning from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, while other surrounding counties were under high wind watches or a wind advisory.
As of 8:15 p.m. Monday, 148 customers reported losing power in McKean County. Of those, 77 customers were impacted in Kane, 64 in Lafayette Township and seven in Wetmore Township.
In Potter County, 91 customers reported losing power, with 60 of those residing in Pike Township and 24 in the Borough of Shinglehouse. The remaining Potter County residents without power were scattered between Coudersport and Galeton.
In Elk County, 14 customers were without power as of 8:15, all of which were residents of Ridgway.
The wind gusts reported were well under the prediction of gusts up to 60 mph for the area. Shinglehouse reported a gust of 37 mph, while Bradford experienced a maximum gust of 32 mph with sustained winds reaching 22 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
