SHINGLEHOUSE — Although the Oswayo Valley Memorial Library is not able to be open at this time, there are still services that can be accessed by anyone who has a library card through its website, www.ovmlibrary.org.
Anyone who resides in the Oswayo Valley School District and does not have a library card can email ovmlibrary@gmail.com to be issued a temporary card. All that is needed is the person’s name and address. When the library is able to reopen, residents can stop by the library with a photo I.D. and staff will issue a physical card.
There are several resources that can be accessed on the website.
For instance, an educational/recreational page has links for all ages. Also, the library’s Facebook feed is on the front page of the website, and the library posts at least once a day with a mixture of information, entertainment and pictures of the past.
Downloadable ebooks and audio through the Libby app as part of the eBranch2Go program. Through Mango, patrons can use this time to learn a new language. The PowerLibrary portal has many databases for Pennsylvania citizens. Patrons can practice for their driver’s permit test through DMV Practice Tests, and more downloadable audio books are available through RBDigital.
Patrons can search the card catalog by visiting the website, and they can also log into their account and renew books or put books on reserve.
