RIDGWAY — No one was hurt when a Horton Township home caught fire Wednesday morning.
According to Ridgway-based state police, at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, a fire was reported at 1964 Shawmut Road. The accidental fire started on the second floor.
Two residents — Faith D. Bryan, 63, and Madison R. Bryan, 23, both of Brockport, were home at the time on the first floor, and they were able to escape without injury, police reported.
State Police fire marshal Cpl. Greg Agosti and the Horton Township Fire Department investigated the origin and cause, and found that the fire was related to a faulty laptop battery. The fire was ruled accidental.
Damage is estimated to be $200,000, police stated.
