In response the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bradford Sanitary Authority has reduced its office, treatment plant, and field crew operations to minimum staffing.
“Employees scheduled off will be able to stay home with their families and minimize their own exposure reducing the risk of spreading any illness among our staff,” said Rick Brocius, executive director. “A week-by-week rotation of all staff will be in place to support the minimum staffing plan until such time that these precautions are no longer needed.”
He said the wastewater treatment operations must always remain open, and it is imperitive to protect the health of those licensed to operate the Seaward Avenue plant.
“Protecting our employees is paramount and necessary to ensure that we can maintain required staffing of licensed plant operators and collection system staff necessary to support wastewater treatment operations, which never shut down,” Brocius said.
On behalf of the authority, he passed along wishes for good health as well.
“The authority wishes for all residents to stay well and encourages everyone to follow all of the recommended precautions until the virus outbreak subsides,” the director said.
“BSA crews will respond to all sewer emergencies and office staff will be available to answer phone calls during normal business hours,” Brocius said. “Access to authority offices will remain closed to the general public until further notice.”
