Bradford City Police Chief Butch Bartlett announced changes the department is making to serve citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement, Bartlett said all vacation time is suspended for the department, and they will maintain maximum staffing during the crisis.
“Please understand our officers will be on patrol keeping the streets safe but will also make every attempt to handle non-emergency calls by phone to limit exposure,” he said.
Bartlett noted there are no new curfews and no mandatory quarantine in place for the city.
“As we all know, in this difficult time we as a community have to pull together,” said Bartlett. “In doing so, our strong community will survive this pandemic. We at the City of Bradford Police Department are committed to providing you a safe community and the public service you deserve.”
Bartlett advised anyone who feels they have been exposed to the virus to follow CDC and health department guidelines.
