A Tioga County man has been accused of stealing chainsaws from a Potter County business.
Tommy J. Causer Jr., 48, of Elkland, is charged with solicitation of minors to traffic drugs, burglary, conspiracy burglary and criminal trespassing, all second-degree felonies; theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, third-degree felonies and corruption of minors, a first-degree misdemeanor.
According to Coudersport-based state police, Causer and a juvenile were charged after three Husqvarna chainsaws were stolen between 2 and 5 a.m. Dec. 21 from Mills Hill Variety Store in Harrison Township.
The juvenile was also charged with conspiracy-burglary, conspiracy-theft and conspiracy-receiving stolen property, police said.
Causer is in Potter County Jail in lieu of $50,000 in the case.
Causer also has an active robbery case in Potter County. Both cases against him have been sent to the Potter County Court of Common Pleas and are still pending.
