WHOOPS: Thursday’s ‘round the square was a bit early for its time. The topic was the vernal equinox, and it stated that the event occurred at 11:49 p.m., which IS true, on Thursday. HOWEVER, the Thursday in question is March 19, NOT March 12.
We got a little excited for Spring and jumped the gun on that one.

FRIDAY THE 13TH: One date we are sure of is today’s, Friday, March 13.
The last time March 13 fell on a Friday was in 2015.
March 13 is the 73nd day of the year in the Gregorian calendar, because 2020 is a Leap Year. There are 293 days left until the end of the year.
March 13 is celebrated as World Sleep Day, in the US and also Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and India.

Bring home a horse or burro: Wild horses and burros from public rangelands in Western states will be available for adoption or sale at an event managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), on March 13 — 14, 2020, at The Champions Center Expo, 4122 Laybourne Road in Springfield, Ohio.
The adoption, which is free and open to the public, will begin Friday, 8 a.m. — noon and Saturday, 8 a.m. — 1 p.m. It is unknown at press time, how many horses or burros may be available at this event.
Prospective adopters/buyers must be at least 18 years old and able to provide access to feed, water, and adequate shelter.
These events are scheduled in partial fulfillment of the Wild and Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971, which directs the BLM and U.S. Forest Service to manage for healthy herds on healthy rangelands.
The basic adoption fee is $25, however, the fee rises to $125 for animals that have been gentled. Title to the animal will be awarded to the adopter at the end of one year if all conditions of the adoption agreement have been met.
