The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is canceling events on campus for the foreseeable future.
The measure is precautionary to help protect the health and safety of visitors to the campus and to avoid the further spread of the coronavirus.
Campus offices will remain open, as will the Hanley Library, with hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cafe in the library will be closed.
The Panther Shop will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday until further notice.
The Marilyn Horne Museum and Exhibit Center café in Marilyn Horne Hall will remain open. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The museum remains open to visitors and Marilyn Horne Hall is equipped with numerous hand-sanitizing stations throughout the building.
“As the museum is an interactive experience, we are diligent in keeping all audio wands, headsets, and other surfaces clean and sanitized at all times,” said manager Matthew Hileman. “The museum, cafe, and shop are open seven days a week.”
The Richard E. and Ruth McDowell Sport and Fitness Center and Kessel Athletic Complex are closed for public use until further notice.
Directions for students are available on Pitt-Bradford’s website and Twitter feed.
All spring varsity athletic practices and games are suspended until further notice. UPB officials will reevaluate this situation and make a final decision in about two weeks as to whether they will cancel the seasons or reinstate them, and begin the process of rescheduling affected AMCC contests.
Pitt is transitioning to online classes rather than classroom instruction. Beginning March 23, classes will be online for the remainder of the spring semester.
