SMETHPORT — A Coudersport man who has drug charges pending in Potter County pleaded guilty in McKean County to allegations he fled from police.
Ellis Z. Ott, 33, of Coudersport, pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court before President Judge John Pavlock to charges of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use, DUI-controlled substance and a summary charge.
According to Assistant District Attorney Ashley Shade, on July 29, Ott drove on Two Mile Road and Route 155 in McKean County while under the influence of substances including methamphetamine, marijuana and buprenorphine. He failed to stop for police who tried to pull him over. Also, he possessed less than 30 grams of marijuana.
Court records filed at the time of his arrest alleged that on the above date, Port Allegany police and Coudersport-based state police were trying to apprehend Ott, along with Kacie M. Butler, 29, who were trying to flee the state. They were facing drug charges in Potter County.
The above incident happened four days after the police executed a search warrant at their Coudersport home and allegedly found meth, LSD and a growing operation for marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms, according to court records.
When there was no food in the home, Butler allegedly made her children eat psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana, court records stated.
Butler is currently serving a term in state prison for five Potter County cases, including the drug and endangerment allegations above, court records indicate.
She is scheduled to appear for a last-day-to-plea hearing March 26 in McKean County for flight to avoid apprehension and drug charges.
Ott has two drug cases pending in Potter County, but no court date was available at press time.
He will be sentenced April 2 in McKean County Court. He is incarcerated in Potter County Jail.
