ST. MARYS — Straub Brewery’s Tap Room Hospitality Team established some fun and unique events that customers can experience at the Visitor Center and Tap Room during 2020, including the Month of Giving.
“Giving back to our communities has always been part of the Brewery’s mission,” stated Cathy Lenze, vice president of sales, marketing and public relations. “The community has supported the Brewery over generations and this is a special opportunity to highlight and celebrate those individuals, groups and organizations who invest countless hours in charity.”
Throughout the month of March, the Tap Room will be an outlet for customers to have the opportunity to donate to several charities and organizations and show their support of our local dedicated volunteers. There will be food and drinks specials and each week there is a chance to win $100 gift basket prize from Straub.
This Month of Giving started with the week of March 2-7 where proceeds were given to the Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Marys. On March 5, Executive Director Joe Jacob was a guest at the Tap Room and had the opportunity to educate all on the great services they provide to the youth in the St. Marys area.
This week, donations are designated to support the many efforts of the Elk County Humane Society. On Thursday from 6-8 p.m., there will be activities and games with June Glass and Sarah Merritt from the ECHS. As a “no kill” shelter, the society is in need of any item that you can share; whether it’s a cash donation or a bag of dog food, items can be dropped off anytime at the Straub Tap Room.
From March 16-21, the recipient of the donations is the Elk County Veterans Affairs (Rides for Vets/DAV). On March 19, Lana Evans and Leslie Neal from the Elk County Veterans Affairs office will be at the Tap Room from 6-8 p.m. for those that want to learn more about the services that they provide.
Throughout the rest of the month, March 23-31, donations will be split between the five outstanding Elk County Emergency Management Agencies.
“We are tremendously appreciative of all the hard work and effort that the first responders in our communities do to keep us safe; therefore, each day during the week from 6-8 p.m. we will have guests from each organization join us at the Tap Room with some fun interactive activities,” Lenze said.
The week of March 23rd schedule is as follows: Monday, Mark Schaut and the Elk County Ambulance Service; Tuesday, City of St. Marys; Wednesday, Elkland Search and Rescue (Matt Young and crew) and also is a kickoff Summer Splash Beer Release Party; Thursday, Jeff Reeser from St. Marys Ambulance Service; and Friday, Crystal Fire Department.
