Virtual walking program: The Penn State Extension has a free walking program called Walk Across Pennsylvania. The deadline to sign up is 5 p.m. on March 30. The program will take place between March 30 and May 18 and involves creating a team of five people. Participants can walk wherever they choose — be it a local park, track, the neighborhood, your own house or any other location.
Team members are encouraged to walk 15 miles a week — and they can walk solo or together. Your dog can be part of your team as well.
