A Bradford man was arrested Friday afternoon on allegations that he was distributing methamphetamine to minors in Venango County.
Daniel J. Roach, 44, is charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; endangering the welfare of children, a third-degree felony; corruption of minors, a first-degree misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors.
Bradford City Police reported that they took Roach into custody at 3:25 p.m. Friday at 46 ½ North St. in Bradford for a felony arrest warrant out of Oil City, Venango County.
According to police, Roach delivered meth that was smuggled into a facility called Pathways Adolescent Center and given to minors.
Court records list Nov. 18 as the date of the alleged offense.
According to the Pathways Adolescent Center website, the facility offers programs such as a residential facility for troubled youth and their families; drug and alcohol, family, and individual counseling; emergency shelter; transitional living; and a private academic school.
Roach was taken into custody without incident, according to police.
Court records indicate that he has not been arraigned on the new charges as of press time.
Roach has at least two other pending criminal cases: one in McKean and one in Erie County.
He is scheduled to appear Thursday in McKean County Court for a last-day-to-plea conference in which he is charged with terroristic threats, interference with the custody of children and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors.
The criminal complaint in the McKean County case alleges that on Sept. 16, he was uncooperative when asked to provide the location of a minor girl when an emergency custody order was ordered for her. He agreed to bring the girl to meet with Children and Youth Services, and Bradford City Police were called to assist. At the meetup, Roach allegedly began screaming and swearing and threatening to kill CYS workers.
A trial is scheduled for March 9 in Erie for a case in which Roach is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors, court records indicate.
