A Bradford man was sent to McKean County Jail Friday for allegedly using counterfeit money to buy cigarettes at a convenience store.
Calvin Teeter Sr., 54, of 21 Park St., upper, is charged with forgery, a second-degree felony; and theft by deception, a third-degree misdemeanor.
According to court records, just after midnight Friday morning, Teeter used a counterfeit $20 for a purchase at a convenience store, and received change. A police officer was in the store at the time, and it was brought to his attention by the store clerk.
Teeter was arraigned before District Judge Dom Cercone and remanded to jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
